If its operated by United then will probably be at the United Terminal, but she will have to go through customs so thats were she will come out to collect her bags. Check when you get there because things may have changed.

is there a new regulation saying that you need a passport to travel in states??

Anonymous (not verified)

Any government issued documents showing the identification
of the passenger, like the driver's license is enough. The
name at the ticket and the identification document must be
exact, else, some of the TSA employee can turn a little bit nasty. When I left Nashville showing my driver's license was
enough for the TSA employee, but the TSA employee in San Jose
(CA) held me for a few minutes and I had to show my passport.
It is very true to say that the some of the TSA employees
are crossing the border of their duty and act like somebody
else.

Anonymous (not verified)

Kelly (not verified)

I will be traveling with my daughter and son to LA at the beginning of Aug. from australia when we arrive after going through customs we have to meet a bus that will take us to anaheim.
Where do we meet the bus?

Anonymous (not verified)

Lower level roadway outside baggage claims. Different colored signs. Green signs indicate where to stop for long distance buses. Check with the Travelers Advisory people or ask a cop. There will be plenty of them around.

I arriving from Singapore to LA . I have to doimmigration in LA.I have 4 bags and final destination is Houston. I am taking domestic continental flight from LAX to Houston. Please help me whether I will carry out luggage to re-check in at Continental Airport counter or there is direct trasfer? Whether I have to take out luggage at LAX and do immigration and there will be some drop off box which take care of luggage?

Please reply me if someone has answer for this.

Thanks in advance.

Yes, in USA you have always go through immigration and customs service on your first stop in the US. That means, you will have to go to immigration first get your visa, then go to baggage claim ang get your bags and then to US Customs. When you are past that point you can re-check in your bags, normally there are check in counters for that right after you get through US Customs ( you will stay inside of the departure area).

I hope this is of any help for you...

Anonymous (not verified)

it should be direct connect. once you get to LA ask if you have to recheck your bag but i think its a direct. dont worry its nothing to stress about

I lost my new Iphone in the LAX airport yesterday evening (March 29th). I am VERY dissapointed in this loss! Anyway, the information is that, first, my flight was on 3/29 at 7:05 to denver from L.A. Me and my family were at Gate 40 but sat in Gate 41-42 and we walked around near 43,44, and 45. We also were in the bathroom too. Please let me know if you see this huge piece of my life! (We purchased it near three weeks ago). My home phone number is 303-422-9412. The phone number missing is 303-929-8701.

Anonymous (not verified)

I hope you find your phone but my advice is to check with the airport police since someone may actually turn it in. you just never know. You may want to check more than once since remorse may set in and they'll return it late. Good luck!!

What is the easiest and cheapest way of getting from LAX to the World Cruise Center at San Pedro?

Anonymous (not verified)

what is a red zone, and are you allowed to pick up passengers at arriving gates

Anonymous (not verified)

The red zone is for emergency vehicles only. I would never pick up anyone there since you will probably be sited or harshly scolded. The white zone if for loading and unloading passengers only, no parking.

I have been trying to find information about Greyhound bus locations near the airport...

I know there are two locations in Los Angeles.

Which would be the closest location to the LAX airport?

Anonymous (not verified)

Anyone knows how much does a taxi cost from the airport to hawthorne?
or how much do they charge? per Km? min?
thank you in advance.

Anonymous (not verified)

It probably costs anywhere from 25 to 25 dollars, but if you can, you may want to schedule a shuttle service since this tends to run a little cheaper.

Recently I flew out of California through LAX with no problems. On my way back to California, through Des-Moines Airport, I was stopped, my bag was searched and my toothpaste, hand lotion, and perfume were all thrown away, as well as several other items that needed to be bagged. I did not know that I was carrying items that should have been checked or not taken at all on my trip, until they were thrown away on my way back to California. My issue is that after using the products further during my stay in Des Moines, they were still too large for the regulations enforced for OUR security. It bothers me to think that all of those items went completely unnoticed at LAX which I regard to be one of the best enforcers of airport security in the country. Any suggestions/comments?

My son is arriving from Australia at terminal b and travelling on to Orlando Delta airways terminal 5. He will have 30kg of golf clubs plus his bag. What is the easiest way to get to 5 Bev Flynn

Is there any new regulations regarding the notebooks? Recently while visiting the States, the immigration officer asked to check the contents in my notebook including programs I use, documents I write, and even the photos of my kids. Well, this is very annoying anyway as nobody would like his privacy to be breached in such a way. Though, I wonder if this is a kind of new regulation or random behavior. Btw, what makes me doubt about its being a new regulation is that the officer himself is not good at using the notebook. He asked me for a cable to connect a portable HDD that I had and after 30 minutes he asked me to help him how to connect it (which port). Any help/comment will be greatly appreciated!. Thank you

He would have been looking for paedophilia related material. You may have seemed to fit a profile/target group. Or it just may not have been your day. Either way he was just doing his job but I know how inconvenient it can be.

We arrived at immigration at 3 pm on 02/04/08, we stood in line for 75 minutes at which time the two officers on our line packed up and departed. we were taken to another line where we waited in line for another 60 minutes, just what we wanted after an 11 hour flight, I would suggest that the immigration area is supplied with chairs so that at least we can sit down and that we take a numbered ticket on entry and then we could wait for our number to be shown, everyone would then get there proper turn.

We are tourists from Norway. At trhe stores they are telling us that we can get our tax back (11%) at the airport if we get a special card or something? At Macy's they gave us a card like this so we get it back in the store, but most other stores don't and you need to get it from the airport.

Anybody that knows anything about this and where at lax to go to get this card?

Is it hard to get from terminal 3 to the international terminal. Is there a shuttle, do you have to walk. How long does it take

My wife and I have an overnight layover at LAX and we will be travelling with about 20 lbs of frozen seafood. Is there anywhere in or near the airport that can store this for us overnight? Our hotel cannot. Please recommend a hotel that might if there is no storage at the airport.

Can anyone tell me if there is outlet shopping near to LAX? Or any shopping centres/malls? I have a 5 hour stop over.

How do you find the Flyway shuttle to Union Station. I have flew into Lax several times and still have not been able to find the shuttle. Coming to the airport from Union Station is ok but back is not.

I've just been an airport in this country that has the "RUDEST" Employees. Everyone is a Hispanic with an attitude! No wonder we don't want them here! I went through LAX back in the 70's when I was in the military. The difference is shocking. Los Angeles & the airlines both need to step back and take a look at that place you call an airport. The elevators in the parking garages don't even work! I aways say "If you want to know how clean the kitchen is, just look in the restroom".

LAX has gotten so bad that I have now resolved never to fly from New Zealand to Europe via the States again.

My next trip will be via Singapore or Hong Kong both going and coming back.

Anonymous (not verified)

As a US citizen but now a New Zealand resident, I travel between the two countries every year. I always fly Air New Zealand, the only downside being that I have to fly United to Denver because that's who they partner with, and because LAX is SO ridiculously inconvenient and full of incompetant, rude employees, I now always connect in San Francisco. I have to connect at one of those airports, and I vow never to fly through LA ever again.

Anonymous (not verified)

yes airport employees tend to be rude
and because LAX is a large and busy airport it tends to have impatient workers but as travelers we must take in to consideration that they work longer and harder than we do because the work environment is os hectic. However I do not appreciate the comment you made about the hispanic employees. I believe THAT was a very rude thing to state. "NO wonder we don't want them here"? that's probably what the employees think to themselves when they have to deal with clients like you! That is a racist statement and by putting them down you are not helping at all. Back in the day every place was different, even mcdonald's. If that's what you call constructive criticism, it needs some work...

Anonymous (not verified)

It's funny you should say that the hispanic workers were rude. I have found that It's white ignorant racist people like you that are the rudest people I have ever met. P.S. If you dont like L.A. then move back to what ever cave you came out of.

Anonymous (not verified)

You're an idiot. Just because they're hispanic it does not mean that they're rude. I'm sure they are overworked, underpaid and they have to deal with bigots like you. Re-think what you have said and realize that people like you are the ones keeping Racism and Prejudice alive. Come off it!
