I recently lost my camera outside of baggage claim C near the van transportation benches. Its a Fine Pix (Fujifilm) camera in a camera bag. I don't care for the camera; you may keep it as a reward - no questions asked- but I really want my memory cards (2). It had pictures and video of m y baby's first steps, talking, ect. It's very impotant and sentimental. Please email if you saw anything on Tues, Dec 22, 08 around midnight.

No, nothing at LAX but local hotels will hold luggage

I'm returning from a cruise early in the morning, and not flying out of LAX until around midnight. Is there a place to store luggage at LAX, so that I can spend the day touring around? Thanks!

we arrive from Australia Christmas day, any suggestions how to get to accomodation in Hollywood. I am guessing taxi will be very expensive!Any shuttle buses.Hope some one has suggestions! Thanks!

Anonymous (not verified)

There are usually shuttles at the airport. I would suggest the Renissance Hotel off Hollywood Blvd., but if you're on a budget, I would suggest... Well, I don't really know. I live in L.A. so I've never been to a hotel in L.A. But look around. There are plenty hotels around.

goodyear888

your best bet is to book a hotel in hollywood online. for instance hotels.com expedia.com yahoo travel etc...
local transportation you can contact super shuttle which is cheaper than taxi http://www.supershuttle.com/

enjoy your staying in Los Angeles

Hey everyone,
I'm travelling to the US from australia for the first time in the next two weeks. I arrive at LAX airport at 9:50 am in the tom bradley internation terminal (TBIT) and my connecting flight to washington IAD airport is from terminal 7 at 12:48 pm.

Will i have enough time to make my connecting flight after collecting baggage, fingerprinting etc? Any responses would be much appreciated! Thanks.

goodyear888

you are good since u have almost 3 hrs to clear custom and go to terminal 7. If my 70 years old mother could come out LAX terminal in 1 hour, u can do it too. :-)

After arriving LA, you will go thru immigration first, then find your luggage and go thru custom. After that, give you luggage to connection flight counter, they will route your luggage to the flight to Washington. With only hand carry bags, you should just exit the int'l terminal and walk to terminal 7. It only takes 10-15 minutes walk. You need the exercise after that long flight. I won't recommand you taking the airport shuttle. Get onto the wrong bus, u may get lost.
Welcome to California... even you only stay a couple of hours.

WHAT'S WRONG WITH THESE SO CALLED LAX EMPLOYEES, I'M TALKING EVERY ONE IN GENERAL, FROM THE PEOPLE AT THE CUSTOMS SECTION TO THE LOW-LIVES PICKING UP TRASH.
I'VE RESCENTLY LOST A PHONE, CHEAPER OLDER MODEL NOKIA(SILVER) I REALLY DON'T ARE FOR THE PHONE, WHAT I REALLY CARE ABOUT IS ALL THE NUMBERS IN IT; BUT ANYWAYS TO MAKE A LONG STORY SHORT, EVERY ONE IN THAT AIRPORT IS EITHER A COMPLETE DUMB-ASS OR A COMPLETE A**HOLE; COMING BACK IN THE U.S. I ASKED THE CUSTOMS OFFICER IF HER NEW WHERE THE LOST AND FOUND DPT. WAS, FIRST HE LOOKED AT ME LIKE I WAS SOME SORT OF AN ALIEN, THEN HE YELLED AT ME, "IT IS NOT MY JOB TO GIVE YOU INFORMATION, ASK SOME ONE OUT THERE!!"; I WENT OUT TO THE OUTTER AREA WHERE EVERY ONE IS ALLOWED TO WALK, WENT TO THE INFO DESK ASKED THE LADY BEHIND THE COUNTER WHERE THE LOST AND FOUND WAS, SHE SIMPLY SAID "YOU NEED TO GO TO THE POLICE!". ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I LOOSE SOME THING IN THAT FREAKING AIRPORT AND I HAVE TO GO TO THE LAPD TO FIND IT? AS I WAS WALKING OUT OF THE AIRPORT I SAW THIS GENTLEMAN SWEEPING THE FLOORS I ASKED HIM, "WHERE WOULD SOME GO IF THEY LOST SOMETHING IN THIS AIRPORT?", HE LOOKED AT ME AND POINTED TOWARDS THE BATHROOMS, AS IF I WAS ASKING WHERE CAN I TAKE A LEAK, I FINALLY FIND THIS WEBSITE WHERE I HAVE REALIZED THE LADY AT THE COUNTER MEANT "AIRPORT POLICE" I CALLED THE PH# LISTED ABOVE AND A VERY ANGRY MAN ANSWERS THE PHONE, I PROCEEDED TO TELL HIM WHAT HAPPENNED AND DESCRIBED MY PHONE TO HIM ONLY TO BE PUT ON HOLD FOR ABOUT 5 MINUTES, THEN HE CAME BACK ON THE LINE AND YELLED, "NOTHING BY THAT DISCRIPTION MADE IT HERE, IF IT'S NOT HERE BY NOW IT WILL NOT BE HERE EVER, BECAUSE WE CLEAN THE AIRPORT EVERY NIGHT" AND HANGS UP ON ME BEFORE I COULD KINDLY TELL HIM HOW GREAT OF HELP HE'D BEEN.

That's normal.. Most people in there must hate their lives and are very unhelpful. I have found it easy to be rude back and explain if we didn't travel that they wouldn't have jobs.. So maybe they should kiss the feet we walk on. : )

Where are the respect and service to the senior citizens? My parents are in their late 70s. They are the citizens of this country. Well, it didn't seem to me they were respect as citizens of U.S. They were treated so rude and disrespectful by the immigration/custom people. I believe they don't work for free. They get pay check every 2 weeks. How could they treat people like that. They asked my parents questions with the tone of hatfuleness. They Asked their names and how to spell the letters and if they knew how to speak English. Are you kidding me! They have already answer the questions"in English" to those people, and they still continued asked " Do you know how to speak E-N-G-L-I-S-H". After all these rude talk, they then asked my parents to go to "gate A" for open their suitcases to get check out. How could you just sit there in your chair with legs crossed and stared senior citizens to lift all the heavy luggages up an down without any help. My parents felt they weren't treated fairly by those people. I am really upset with the whole thing. My parents did not expect any special treatments nor to be treated as this way! It happened around 12:50pm yesterday. We demand for an apology from them.I know this happen to many people everyday. This is not right.... you don't treat people different because of the color of their skin.

Your experience is rather common I am afraid. Maybe they work for union, they got job security, and they can't be fired easily, but LAX employ a lot of people who are rude, disrespectful, sometimes racists. That is just what LAX is. LAX hires a lot of lazy, incompetent, uneducated, barely functional Americans like a 3rd world country airport.

I think you should post your experience, so everyone in the world can see how crappy LAX, and hope tourists would go to other countries and spend their tourists cash somewhere else, because USA really doesn't deserve it.

Hello. I have departed from the Tom Bradley terminal over 15 times, and every time, my family eats at the Daily Grill. The food is ok, but it is way over priced. Also, after eating there every time I go to LAX, it gets quite boring. All the other places are fast food places. It would be nice to have at least another sit down restraunt. :)

I am flying to LA in October for the first time from the UK for a two week holiday. As well as my passport, is there anything else that I will need to bring with me such as my birth certificate? I read on the internet that I may need this?

I travelled from LAX to YYC on Westjet WA901 on 8th Sept from terminal 2. Lost a Sony Digital Camera DSC ( no case, silver colored ) at the Security Checkpoint. This camera has almost 3 years of pictures and means a lot to our family. Pls contact me at 403.999.9620 if you have any information.

Can someone tell me the best and quickest way to get from terminal 2 United to Tom Bradley International Qantas,
Should I walk or take a shuttle?
If by Shuttle where does the shuttle leave from in relation to Terminal 2?
Is there a charge/fee to use the shuttle to travel from one terminal to another?

thank you Debra

Michael Forte (not verified)

Walking will be much faster. Just walk outside terminal 2 and turn right (the same direction the cars are going). The International terminal is just past terminal 3 at the end of the horseshoe.

Is there really a pet holding area for pets that miss connecting flights or are taken off for overweight conditions for the connection flight.
We had a puppy taken off because the luggage was overweight..a live breathing animal was taken off in lieu of a suitcase.
The pup left DFW at 4:45 (8/18/08) and didnt get to it's destination till 1:20 this afternoon (8/19/08)
We were told the pup was lost and they didnt know what happened to it untill this morning.

Hi we are arriving into LAX Terminal 4 on Qantas flight 11 and departing on American Airlines to Miami, also Terminal 4. We have 2 hours between arrival to LAX to departure for our Miami flight. After clearing immigration (Aussie passport) do we have to collect our bags for customs and re-check in? Do we have to leave security or will we be able to stay in Terminal 4? Is the terminal very large and how easy is it to find the details of the on-going flight to Miami? Will 2 hours be sufficient time for all this? Many thanks for replies.

Anonymous (not verified)

2 hours should be plenty. after you arrive at an airport, you should never have to leave the secure area nor re-check in. once you arrive, you can go to any of the terminals for departures. Its large, but as long as you know where you are going, you should be fine. there are tons of screens to tell you what terminal to head for.

We are 3 Italian citizens.
Next August we'll land on Los Angeles airport and then we'll have the fligth connection to San francisco airport.
We'll arrive at LAX at about 4.35 p.m. with AIR INDIA airline and how much time should we need to take the domestic flight to San Francisco? 2 hours is enough? Should we make the baggage check-in or baggage will go straight to SFO?
Thanks and regards,

We are flying into LAX on 26 October 08 arriving at 2126. We have a departure from LAX on 27 October for Honolulu at 0855. Would we be better to pick up a nearby hotel or better to spend the night at the airport? Thankyou

Anonymous (not verified)

The airport has no place that is comfortable to rest. Spend the money and get a hotel near there. There are a lot of choices. check AAA and other sites. Unless you don't mind marble floors and chairs that don't separate.

I will be flying in LAX from Australia on August 9th. I am a US citizen. I am wondering how long does that customs process usually take. I have about a 2 and a half hour layover, and I was thinking about possibly meeting a friend I know in the area. I wanted to know if I had time to do this before I was to contact them. Thanks!

i was just wondering what the x stands for in LAX? thanks.

Hi, We are due to arrive at 7:20 in Terminal 1 on a South West airline flight from Las Vegas. Can you confirm how long it would take (including collecting baggage) to get from Terminal 1 to Termainal 6 as we have a connecting flight @ 9:30 to Hawaii. We appreciate any help. Thanks, Celine. Dublin, Ireland.

Karin (not verified)

Hi Celine, we flew in from Australia last September and had two hours to make a connection to Saint Louis we just made it and we did not have to collect luggage, so don't waste anytime as you will need at least two to three hours as the queues are so long with too little staff allowed at Lax, good luck.
