What is the anticipated time interval required to arrive at Terminal 1 at US Airways and reasonably go through customs and board an international Quantas flight?

Is a security clearance necessary?

Are we required to retrive our luggage and transport them to the international terminal and recheck our bags? Assumption is this would be required.

Please advise.
